I liked being in Finland a lot~ it felt so calming and it was so fun and it was great to meet up and hand out with Sandra!
Well... most of the time I was pretty much gaming there. *laugh* In nearly 2 weeks I played through Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. (Notice a pattern there?) I've wanted to play them for a long time now so it was great finally to do so.
I got around doing other stuff also besides playing. How unbelievable it may sound. I was besides Helsinki also in two other towns. Like Porvoo from where we went to Turku where Animecon was.
But lets start from the beginning... I mean the real beginning... When I was on my way to Finland still. Of course I had to do packing before. I was about to leave for nearly 2 weeks so of course I would need to bring additional stuff with me. Dad drove me to the bus station in the morning and I was safely on my way with lots and lots of hours to spare. The ride was boring. Got a bit of entertainment when I met up with Anni in Tallinn for a little bit. Though I was supposed to sort of wait for the next trolley... or tram... (or something that moves on tracks but is not a train,) but I was not about to stand there for and hour and half and just walked to the port. Heh. I found it quite nicely. I am surprised that I am decent enough in orienteering.
Now I still had lots of time to spare after I arrived at the port. I was really tired by then though and had already boarded the ship by 15:00 though it wouldn't leave until 17:00. So I texted a bit, thought about napping. Saw a classmate on the ship. Former classmate to be exact. You don't just meet people from your class randomly on a ship to Finland. I don't even... A bit talking to her. And Finally arriving on Finnish soil! I had to wait a bit until Sandra came to pick me up that wasn't too bad. (Though my shoulders were pretty much killing me... )
It was great when I saw her. It had been quite long since the last time. And then followed the evening and night activities. I hadn't seen the 1st part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet, so we watched through it sort of quickly at her place as Sandra had booked us seats for the 2nd part. It started at 00.07 (because 7th movie?) and it was great. I really loved the atmosphere in the cinema. I never had experienced it quite like that. Clapping and other various things. It was just bam! Going to see a movie at midnight is something I've got to do again in the future. But not alone. Being alone in the movies sort of sucks... or the movie has to be extremely good to make up for that.
So obviously Harry Potter got stuck in my head once again. And still is. (Besides... TOM FELTON... that guy... I've got no words really...)
And then I started with my first game while Sandra started sewing on her cosplay (Malificent btw) because the con would be in a few days.
On a Friday we (me and Sandra) went to Porvoo. Sauna! Caught a glimpse of Sandra's family too while there. Pfff. I read manga (Tramps Like Us) while she was working on her prop which didn't want to stay like supposed to until the end of the con... when not needed anymore. Anyway, we got to Turku with Betsy's car. The ride didn't seem really that long. Though I was occasionally dozing anyway. Then the arrival! It was possible to see cosplayers walking around already. *laugh* Anyway, we got to Sophias apartment where we would be staying for the night. SO were... uh... 6 other people... Which made it being 10 people in a one room apartment, I think. And there were some other people hanging around too whom I didn't know. The only one I had remotely heard about before was Nora.
Going to Animecon in Turku. Nothing in comparison to Animatsuri as it had like 10 000 visitors. The size really was amazing. Thus also the amount of cosplayers. Got me inspired to do more cosplays right away~ (Now, if there weren't this tiny problem called money. ) And ah~ I feel bad that I didn't bring my camera with me. *sob* (Though it's batteries would have likely died quickly.) I am pretty sure my heart leapt a bit when I saw Suikoden II cosplayers. Though I was too shy to talk to them. (Or to most people in general. ) And a bunny (from Trickster) cosplayer, heh. And quite a lot more of people whose picture I would have liked. The people I hung around with cosplayed Disney antagonists the first day. The next a lot of them were cosplaying turks. Actually... I am really not sure who most of the people were. Pffff.
Both con days ended with going to eat in a all you can eat pizza bar or something something. I ate lots there. On the first days though, on the evening everyone in the apartment watched Final Fantasy Advent Children. It was an uncut version. As in lots of scenes that the previous version didn't have. I quite liked that. And knowing what actually was going on this time as I have played Final Fantasy 7 quite near to the end. Just a bit stuck currently. Also, the jokes going on between the people. Pffff. (Nevermind they were mostly speaking Finnish.) Like... Reno not getting paid as he failed so much and and EMO WATER, haha. God... that sure was amusing to watch. *madlaughing* And then also Sophia shaving her head for Rude cosplay. (Which was amazing by the way. Looked totally manly, heh. As in, she should probably use the men's toilet.)
/game rant (you are free to ignore)
Skfhjkdgdpgoekjgld I really love Suikoden games. Though I've played only the 1st and 2nd one but I really want to play Suikoden III. I didn't expect the game to grow so much on me when I started playing it randomly the 1st time. But it did and I REGRET NOTHING. I mean... I really need to get me a playstation 2 eventually to play some newer games too. *coughcough*
/end game rant
Well, when staying on topic of cosplay and Animecon still, even pictures of me were taken there. On the first day I was wearing lolita which I had borrowed from Sandra. I couple people did take photos of me on that day even and I am featured in a blog to boot! Here in this post to be exact. People who know how I look can try spotting me. Heh. And on second day I used my Hungary cosplay. (I see it as my first cosplay ever. Sandra was being an other version of Hungary on that day. ) By now I think the dress is horrible sewing wise... but there were nonetheless people taking pictures of it... And even two Prussias spotted me... (Yes, Alex, I suppose you don't like the sound of that.) But they didn't notice Sandra which was a bit of a fail on their part. They also spotted me a second time, trying to catch me (They were chained together with a long chain and with that.) But I fleed rather quickly, heh. And they still didn't recognize whom Sandra was cosplaying.
Also... YELLOW CAR! A game a sort of got to know which is for passing time in a car or so... doesn't work when being by oneself though.
I got a little cold at some point when we had returned to Helsinki. My throat was aching terribly and with that were my eyes. I almost would have gone swimming on Sveaborg but decided not to because of that. Having a picnic there and walking around was awesome though~ I seriously love that island and I am sure Alex will too when he eventually gets there. Hmm...
On one day I hung around the place where Sandra worked. Making pizzas all day long. And these pizzas are tasty~ I had planned staying there until noon and then returning to her apartment to keep playing.... Kingdom Hearts 2 but I got distracted by a HP fanfiction. Whoops. So I stayed until her work ended.
God... never ever have I drunken so much cola. Like never! And then add eating chips in there. And it was so damn hot. But I finished the games. And I missed talking to Alex so much but asjkdhfgdslkgsdlgjdjgh I'd like to be back in Finland. Helsinki was nice. Depending on university stuff at the moment I may try entering University of Helsinki again.
Umm... the evening befor- the night before I had to leave I finished KH2. Then got introductions from Sandra how to get to the port which was super easy. Arrived there earlier even. I remembered though I had forgotten to drink the cup of tea I had made before I left. ( Teaaaaa )
Ship trip was boring but didn't feel as long when going to Finland. In Tallinn I walked a bit around town. Majorly going to Viru keskus (food and I bought a memory card for my phone) and finding my way to the bus station on foot (I just didn't feel like using buses or trams or trolleys). Well, I found it but exaclty when a bus to VĂ´ru left and I had to wait several hours for the next one. As I had been awake for quite long the previous night, I was tired and got a bit dehydrated because of the hot weather and ended up feeling horrible by the time I was on the bus home. I wasn't able to fall asleep either so I entertained myself on facebook mostly as my phone cannot manage to load all too many other sides (not a fancy smartphone or anything).
When I finally was back in my hometown I got dragged to someone's birthday when my dad picked me up. They had been there before I arrived and went back with me afterwards. I was feeling still horrible. Not being able to eat anything as it was just... ugh... No thank you. Though dad tried, heh. But I didn't really care about being there and was instead clued to my phone. And talking on Facebook, pffff.
And then late in the night I finally got home~ It was sweet to be back again. My bed, my plushies, my blanket, my pillows and finally possibility to actually get sleep.
So much about Finland for now. (It is my longest post already anyway.) But also future plans were started in Finland. The theme of Animatsuri this year is steampunk, so we decided on a group cosplay. Kingdom Hearts steampunk style. Me as Kairi, Sandra as Sora and Sophia as Riku~ We still got to do planning and coordinate our outfits and do an actual skit. I am so waiting for this! And wondering where we will end up staying as I don't know yet what awaits me as to say.
Ah, that should be now all I wanted to write for now... No, not quite. Jlsjfksf I'd feel like cosplaying this with some one... Gumi and Ren from this PV. It got totally stuck in my head a few hours ago and I love their designs in this video. Some one please do it in future with me.
That reminds me that some time in the future I want to do a D.Gray-man cosplay with Ingrid. Even if it means I got to sew the costume for her. Maybe we'd do Lavi and Rinalee... But we'll decide that when the time comes. *wantwantwant*
Ok, now really, that's enough. I was away, I missed home, I missed the tea Inge makes, I missed my friends here in Estonia and I am back now. And things are back to normal.
And thumbs up to anyone who has read the whole post. Pffff.
